Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment review
Claims: "If the earth's not nourished, you'll never grow beautiful flowers" is the philosophy behind Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment. Its vital hair and scalp complex helps to reduce hair loss. It improves follicle health which in turn increases the ability of the hair to anchor to the scalp.
The soothing formulation reduces irritation and moisturises the scalp. It addresses hair and scalp ageing at a cellular level whilst providing an improvement in tensile strength to give body and texture by penetrating the hair reaching the inner cortex. Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment also improves the volume and feel of the hair.
How to use: After shampooing simply scoop out the equivalent of an egg into the palms of your hands,
Massage into your hair from roots to ends and leave for 5 minutes.
Rinse out and then condition as normal.
Keep using this miracle treatment with every wash until hair improves, then use once a week to maintain gorgeous conditioned hair.
Formula: In terms of hair masks, I think this is on the runnier side to others that I have used but is still of a thicker consistency compared to a normal conditioner. I apply with my hands, massaging at the roots (as it advises on the tub) and run my fingers through my hair afterwards.
Scent: It smells just like other Lee Stafford products (hard to describe) and lasts once your hair is dry even though you use a normal conditioner after applying the mask.
Packaging: I like the packaging of this product as it is a big tub that lasts quite a while and when you do start to run out it is really easy to get what's left of the product out.
Thoughts: I think I am on somewhere around my 6th-8th tub of Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment now. I have used it on and off for quite some time and every time I go back to using it, I am reminded of why I like it so much. I first started using this, as I was trying to grow my hair and still am, although I am much happier with the length of my hair now than I was when I first started using this mask. I have alternated with other products at times, as I don't want my hair to get too used to a product.
I use the treatment exactly how it says on the tub (as above). I was a bit sceptical about putting the treatment all over, including my roots but surprisingly it doesn't leave you with greasy roots at all; as long as you wash it out well and don't go too overboard with the amount of product you apply to the roots. I then follow with a normal conditioner but do not apply this to the roots.
I used to have quite frizzy hair and I'm sure this treatment has helped to tame it and is certainly one of the things I noticed when I first started using it. I like to wash my hair at night and sleep on it but one of the benefits of this mask is that my hair dries really smooth when I have used it and if I wanted to, I could wash my hair in the morning and go out without having to have slept on it before. Personally, I wouldn't say I notice a difference in the volume of my hair but it does go really shiny and feels in good condition.
I'm still sort of sceptical about the growth aspect of this treatment. After all, aren't all hair masks meant to help with the condition of your hair, which in turn will keep it healthier and prompt growth? Having said this, I have had a number of people comment saying "your hair has grown loads" so, maybe it does help, I perhaps just don't see it as much as others as I see my hair every day. I will continue to use this treatment for the feel and shine that it gives my hair, not just for the growth element.
It is worth noting that on the tub it suggests using the treatment every time you wash your hair until the condition of your hair has improved and then change to using once a week. I use it once a week but did apply the mask each time I washed my hair when I first started using it. Obviously if you do this, it is going to run out quicker at first.
Pros: A tub lasts a good amount of time (once you start using it once a week) and is good value for money, particularly when Boots often tend to have a 3 for 2 offer on, which is when I usually stock up.
Helps tame frizzyness.
It definitely improves the feel of my hair and in the long run I think it has most probably improved the quality of my hair, helping it grow more.
Doesn’t weigh hair down.
Cons: This is no longer an issue for me as I no longer dye my hair but is something to consider if you do...In my opinion, I think it strips the colour out of your hair quite a bit; a lot of colour used to run out when rinsing the treatment off and this didn't happen when using a regular conditioner. I continued to use the mask, as said before, I like the feel it gives to my hair but I stopped applying the mask to my roots and just to the lengths of my hair.
As it claims to improve volume, I can’t really vouch for it making much difference in volume to my hair.
Would I recommend this product?: I would definitely recommend this product, even if you are not trying to grow your hair, it will definitely make an improvement to the general feel of your hair and is great value for money.
