I've been using Bio-Oil for years and never thought I would end up writing a review about it until recently. I have previously only ever used it on stretch marks and small areas of my face to heal any redness or scarring. However, last week, I had a few dry patches around my nose and thought I would apply some Bio-Oil on it to fix the problem. Instead of only applying it on that area, I decided to put it all over my face to give my skin a bit of a boost. I've never applied it all over my face before as I don't like the thought of putting oil all over my skin when it is already quite oily but I went ahead anyway. I made sure to massage it in well and was surprised my face didn't look greasy afterwards. I wanted to see how well it worked alone, so other than cleansing and using my toner before, I didn't apply anything else to my skin. When I woke up the next morning, I was so surprised at how different my skin appeared to be. It was a lot clearer, radiant and all my blemishes had gone. This is the first time I've really noticed a significant difference over night when using a product. I couldn't believe how well it had worked in a matter of hours. I've continued to use it on my face morning and night since then and I am still seeing great improvements in my skin. I'm still allowing it to work its magic on its own but I will definitely be including it in my future routine from now on. I will just apply the Bio-Oil a little while before my moisturiser instead. This is one added step that I really won’t mind doing.
If you're not sure what Bio-Oil is, "it is a specialist skincare product that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. Its advanced formulation, which contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil, also makes it highly effective for numerous other skin concerns, including aging skin and dehydrated skin. Bio Oil is formulated with the following all-natural ingredients: Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Calendula Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil and Chamomile Oil Bio Oil is a non-comedogenic (acnegenic), hypo-allergenic product that is suitable for use by individuals with sensitive skin."
I have very sensitive skin and one of the reasons I had never applied it to my face before, was my concern of it causing more spots and clogging up my pores. This wasn't the case and I really do think it would be great for all skin types. Mine can often be quite dry but I also get quite oily at times and it's done nothing but improve my skin.
Bio-Oil also comes in various sizes so if you haven't tried it before, then perhaps buy the smallest one. A little goes a long way and even the small one will last months and months. It's also a lot cheaper to buy offline at times or in cheaper stores such as Savers, rather than Boots.
I think everybody should have some Bio-Oil for all its great uses anyway. You can even add some to your bath to help with stretch marks, too. I can't recommend it enough but especially for anyone who has uneven skin tone and never thought they would be able to have 'perfect' skin. I've always had some problem or other with my skin and have hardly ever managed to keep it clear but since using this, it has been.
